Programming an RF Remote Control

Once you have installed your Serena RF shade you’ll need to put the shade into programming mode and program your Pico wireless control so that it works with the shade. To put the shade into programming mode, tap the shade button on all of the shades you want assigned. The shade button will turn on to solid green, indicating the shade is in programming mode. Next, hold the "close" button on the control for about 5 seconds, until the shade button blinks and turns off. You’ve now assigned the control to the shade. If you’d like to assign more controls, repeat these steps.

Now you can set the lower and upper limits for the shade. These limits are stopping points for the shade, which were pre-programmed based on your window dimensions. However, you’ll probably want to fine-tune them. Note: Please leave the shade down for 24 hours to allow the fabric to relax before adjusting the limits. To set the shade’s lower limit, tap the shade button on the shade you want to set the limit on. The shade button will turn on to solid green. Then hold the "open" and "raise" buttons on the control for about 5 seconds, until the shade button blinks and remains lit. Use the control’s "raise" and "lower" buttons to adjust the shade position to the lower limit you prefer. Hold the "close" button for about 5 seconds, until the shade button blinks and turns off. Note: If you have a Pico control with an LED, you’ll also need to hold the "open" and "raise" buttons on the control until the LED turns off. You’ve now set the shade’s lower limit.

To set the shade’s upper limit, tap the button on the shade you want to adjust. The shade button will turn on to solid green. Hold the "open" and "raise" buttons on the control for about 5 seconds, until the shade button blinks and remains lit. Then use the control’s "raise" and "lower" buttons to adjust the shade position to the upper limit you prefer. Hold the "open" button for about 5 seconds, until the shade button blinks and turns off. Note: If you have a Pico control with an LED, you’ll also need to hold the "open" and "raise" buttons on the control until the LED turns off. You’ve now set the shade’s upper limit. Repeat for the next shade.

You may also want to set a favorite shade level, or preset, for one shade assigned to the Pico, or multiple shades assigned to the Pico at the same level. To set a favorite level, use the control’s "raise" and "lower" buttons to adjust the shade position to the level you prefer. Then hold the "favorite" button for about 5 seconds. You’ve now set a favorite level. You can also set a favorite shade level, or preset, for multiple shades assigned to the Pico at different levels. Use the control’s "raise" and "lower" buttons again to adjust the first shade’s position to the level you prefer. Please note that all shades will move together - don’t worry - that’s ok! Once you have the first shade in the position you want, disconnect that shade’s power by removing one battery or unplugging the power supply.

Now you can adjust the next shade’s position to the level your prefer and then disconnect that shade’s power supply. Again, all of the shades that are still powered will move together. Repeat this process for all of the shades you wish to program. When you get to the last shade, you don’t need to disconnect its power supply. Once all of your shades are at the level you prefer, restore power to the shades, then hold the "favorite" button for about 5 seconds. All of the shade buttons will blink, indicating you’ve set a favorite level for multiple shades.
