Lutron, I recently had the pleasure of installing five of your Serena automatic blinds, and I would like to say I am very impressed. I would rate the product and the process a resounding 5 stars. From the web site ordering process, to the packaging, to the product itself, each part of the experience has been well thought out, well designed, and well delivered. Well Done! The location we installed the blinds is over a built in bath tub, and it is only possible to access the blinds by standing on the tub surround. When we bought the house, there was a set automatic shades. First I thought, “What a great idea”, until I tried living with them. The IR control was directional and unreliable. The remote needed to be pointed exactly at the receiver in each shade, and would often fail to operate the blind. I also found I was changing 40 batteries twice a year, which required removing the shades completely. Finally I gave up and left them open. I found your web site Googling for automatic shades. I was looking for automatic shades, at a reasonable price, and based on my experience with the existing shades, I wanted home automation control, and “wired in”. After seeing the Pico remote, and reading that it was radio frequency, not line of sight, and that one remote could control all the shades, that seemed to resolve the directional issue, and the “one by one” problem of the existing shades. Also, the fact that the remote can be mounted in an existing switch plate made it perfect. No trouble losing it or explaining how to use it to guests. It's right at the door, up is up, down is down, all five at once. Simple, perfect. Next was my “wired in” requirement. After reading about your battery life, and the fact that the shades simply tilt forward to change the batteries, I decided to go that way. Again, I am most impressed. Battery access is simple, and the shades operate quietly and reliably. Thanks again for a first rate product. Don't change a thing. I will definitely purchase these again and will highly recommend them.Vince A.
